How much does Farm Powered organics recycling cost?
Vanguard will meet with you at your location to determine your needs and provide a free, no-obligation estimate. Our service is extremely cost competitive and may save you money.
What do you use for containers?
We offer options depending on your needs including compactors, tanks, and totes. During our initial meeting, we can discuss the best solution.
How do you collect the food?
We partner with local haulers or we’ll work with your existing hauler. We also operate a small fleet of our own tankers.
What can I put in the compactors/totes?
Most everything you’d put in a backyard compost pile—vegetable and fruit trimmings, eggshells, breads and grains, meat and fish scraps, dairy products, and paper towels.
Will I save money separating my food waste from other trash streams?
Yes! Food waste is the heaviest component of typical trash production. Our tipping rates are substantially lower than landfills and incinerators.
What do you do with the food scraps when they get to the Vanguard facility?
All the food scraps processed at the Vanguard Renewables anaerobic digestion facility are converted to renewable energy and valuable by-products for the host farm.
Can you help us verify our organics recycling sustainability efforts?
Vanguard will assist you in quantifying your monthly and/or annual carbon footprint reduction.
Do you have any marketing materials to promote our recycling efforts?
Yes. We offer our Farm Powered registered trademark at no cost to include on packaging, signage, transportation fleets, POS, etc. and we’ll work with you to suggest high visibility ways to promote your commitment to sustainability to customers and your team.
Do you offer staff training? How about signage that clearly states guidelines?
We offer staff trainings upon request and provide signage that clearly states what organics can be recycled.
I am an individual not a business. Do you participate in curbside pickup?
Unfortunately, we do not, but if you like what we do, let your Town/City know! We do offer transfer station collection opportunities for cities and towns.
